MAHARISHI MARKANDESHWAR UNIVERSITY, SOLAN

The Maharishi Markandeshwar University Solan (MMUS), has an oval-shaped panel with a red colour border and a red banner at the bottom of the oval. There is an image of Bhakta Markandeya hugging a Shiv Ling with a halo around. This is ensconced in a red border on which the name of the university is inscribed. On the banner the slogan in Devanagari ‘ॐ श्री मारकण्डेश्वराय  नमः’ is written. Below these its motto in Sanskrit ‘कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते’ (Verse 47, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘You have the Right to Action’.

DAKSHIN BIHAR GRAMIN BANK Dakshin Bihar Gramin Bank (DBGB) is a Regional Rural Bank (RRB) founded on January 1, 2019. It was formed by amalgamating two RRBs of Bihar viz. UNIVERSITY OF NORTH BENGAL The University of North Bengal (UNB) was established by an Act of the Legislature of West Bengal in 1962. The motto of the university in Sanskrit is ‘समनो मन्त्रः समितिः समानी’ meaning ‘Common be your prayers, Common be the end of your assembly’. The square emblem in violet and yellow has a motif of Bengali swastika adapted to form an engrossing central figure in a circle, resembling four persons. Adjacent to this on both the sides floral decorations of the region are placed and on its top and bottom its name is written. The emblem was designed by the artist Ajit Dasgupta, who was a professor of art at the university. The emblem was adopted by the university in 1962, the year it was founded. The colour violet symbolises modesty, humility, innocence, purity, faith, hope, wisdom and spirituality and the colour yellow symbolises happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity.
