SAMPURNANAND SANSKRIT VISHWAVIDYALAYA |
The Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya (SSVV) was Founded on March 22, 1958. It was renamed as Sampurnanand Sanskrit University under the Uttar Pradesh State University Act, 1973, dated December 16, 1974. It has a recorded history of two hundred and five years. The grey colour circular emblem of the university has eight petalled lotus spread placed inside a circle with a sun in the centre, The lotus is ensconced by a border, which carries its name and motto in Sanskrit ‘श्रुतम् मे गोपाय’ (Chapter Four, Taittiriya Upanishad) meaning ‘Preserve Whole Unto Me the Sacred Lore that I have Studied’. The lotus symbolises purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty and the sun symbolises life, energy, power, positivity and clarity. The sun is a natural force that is outside of our control, it illuminates the world around us, helps living creatures navigate the planet and sustains the ecosystem.
