TILKA MANJHI BHAGALPUR UNIVERSITY

The Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU), also known as Bhagalpur University, is a premier institution for providing higher education in the state of Bihar. The university is situated in Bhagalpur town of Bihar State and is named after famous freedom fighter Tilka Manjhi. Established on July 12, 1960, it is a public university. The yellow and orange circular logo has a traditional lamp supported by an open book ensconced in a circular gear wheel and this assemblage is placed in an yellow circle. It has a white border which carries its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ meaning ‘From Darkness, Lead me to Light’ and its name in Devanagari. The traditional lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the open book is a symbol of knowledge and wisdom and the gear wheel denotes interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement.

MAULANA AZAD NATIONAL URDU UNIVERSITY Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University established by an Act of Parliament in 1998. The logo of the university has two strokes of orange and green forming the shape of ‘U’ in tricolour and has a ‘Ashoka Chakra’ at its top. This is supported by an open book on which images of an atom and a burning candle are depicted. Its name is written in Urdu atop the emblem on a banner; written in Devanagari on a banner above the logo and in English at its bottom. The book represents knowledge and education; the atom denotes science and the candle denotes light and guidance to discover the unknown.

SANT GAHIRA GURU VISHWAVIDYALAYA The circular emblem of Sant Gahira Guru Vishwavidyalaya (SGCG), formerly known a s Sarguja University has a circular border in orange and green and has its name, place and motto inscribed in Devanagari and supported by a pair of tribal ornaments. The motto is written in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’. Inside the border, motifs of a drum, supported by a pair of horns; an open book topped by a red sun ; a banyan tree and a pair of crests of millets are placed.
