Public Works Department Uttarakhand or Lok Nirman Vibhag popularly known as P.W.D. has a legacy of more than one hundred and thirty years. The set up of Uttarakhand PWD is similar to that in other states with Engineer in Chief as Head of Department and one Chief Engineer Level 1 (Headquarters) responsible for monitoring and managing the establishment of the department. Its emblem is a monogram of its acronym depicted as building and a temple tower. The name of the State is written at the bottom.

COTTON UNIVERSITY Cotton University (CU) was formerly known as Cotton College, the institute was established in 1901 by Sir Henry Stedman Cotton, the Chief Commissioner of the erstwhile British province of Assam. It became a constituent college of Gauhati University in 1948. In 2011 the Cotton College State University was established vide an Act of the Government of Assam, with the college as a constituent. Cotton University came into being in 2017 through The Cotton University Act, 2017 that enabled the unification of Cotton College State University and Cotton College. The official emblem of the university dates back to 1933. It was designed by Mohendra Nath Deka Phukan, an alumni of the university. This emblem is a shield which is a symbol of protection of Assam. PALLAVA DYNASTY - BULL The Pallava Dynasty existed from 275 CE to 897 CE, ruling a significant portion of the Deccan, also known as Thondaimandalam. The dynasty rose to prominence after the downfall of the Satavahana dynasty, with whom they had formerly served as feudatories. The Pallavas became a major South Indian power during the reign of Mahendravarman I(600–630 CE) and Narasimhavarman I (630–668 CE), dominating for about 600 years, until the end of the 9th century. Kancheepuram served as the capital of the Pallava kingdom.  They developed the Pallava script, from which, Grantha ultimately took form. This script eventually gave rise to several other Southeast Asian scripts such Khmer. The Chinese traveller Xuanzang visited Kanchipuram during Pallava rule and extolled their benign rule.
