Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), an 'Institution of National Importance' providing education, training and research is established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India under the auspices of UNESCO. The logo of RCB has its acronym written using extra bold sans serif font, without vertical strokes in dark grey, in which ‘C’ is treated as growth of fungal, denoting biotechnology in brown. Below this its name is written in Devanagari and at the bottom dark grey in English.

As the institution is named after Mata Vaishno Devi, the color palette and tripartite flow are reminiscent of traditional spiritual symbolism associated with the region.
