The circular emblem of IES University (IESU) has an open book supporting a torch and supported by a pair of laurels and its year of inception. These are ensconced by a white circular border with blue outlines inscribed with its name and its motto is Sanskrit ‘ज्योतिः प्रदिर्शो दिशान्ता’ meaning ‘The Divine Light that is Within Me’, separated by a pair of three stars. The open book signifies knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the torch symbolises enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the laurels denote ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication and the stars symbolise perfect harmony among all things in life, with its points providing insight into how we can strive towards achieving this goal.

GOVERNMENT THIRUVANNAMALAI MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL (GTMCH) The emblem of Government Thiruvannamalai Medical College and Hospital (GTMCH) features the motifs of renowned Sri Annamalaiyar Temple with Annamalai Hill and Kartigai Deepam supported by the Staff of Hermes or Staff of Caduceus with a pair of wings and entwined by a pair of serpents. These motifs are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The motto of the college ‘Enlighten Healing’ is inscribed on a banner placed below the seal. KARNATAKA POLICE Police in Karnataka were called by various names in different regions. After initiation of policing, they were initially called Thoti, Talwar, Umbalidhar, Kattubidi, Neeraganti etc. The police primarily with policing used to do other jobs entrusted to them. Mysore State was the predecessor to Karnataka State, which was created on November 1, 1965. Sri. L. Rickets was appointed as first Inspector General of Police. During the rule of Maharajas of Mysore, the policing existed in different variants. Hukumnama or Kandachara was issued for policing during the rule of Maharaja Mummudi Krishna Raja Wodeyar (1799-1811) at old Mysore region under the British rule, when Sri. Poornaiah was Dewan. CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF TAMILNADU The Government of India founded the Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN), along with eight other Central Universities, through an Act of Parliament in 2009. Its emblem is in the form of a black shield with a crest of flames in yellow and orange colours. The top portion of the shield, which is separated by a horizontal double head arrow line, has its name written in Devanagari topped by a rising sun. The portion below this is divided into three parts with a symbol of recycling materials, a graduating scholar in a halo and a stem of plant shooting from a pair of meshed gear wheels, which are supported by a pair of blue ribbons.
