DR. Y.S.R ARCHITECTURE AND FINE ARTS UNIVERSITY

To meet the need of trained professionals with practical, creative and real life problem solving skills in art, design and architecture, Dr. YSR Architecture and Fine Arts University was established. After the separation of the State into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the government established Dr. YSR Architecture and Fine Arts University, Kadapa under Sub Section (2) of the Section (1) of the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (Amendment) Act, 2019 of A.P Legislature Act No.15 of 2020. The emblem of the university has the national emblem Ashoka Chakra in the centre. The twelve rays that emanate from the wheel, house twelve motifs representing the university’s academics. All these are ensconced in a blue circular border bearing the name of the university. This blue circle has an orange outline. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्या सर्वत्र वन्दिते’ meaning ‘Knowledge is Worshipped Everywhere’ is inscribed on an orange banner placed below the circular seal. The colour orange represents energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness and blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

The mountains and river refer to the local topography of snow-capped peaks of the Himalayan mountain ranges; the lightning bolt symbiosis raw energy, power, enlightenment, and the sparking of knowledge; and the laurels represent a traditional laurel wreath, which symbolises academic triumph, victory and the pursuit of honour.

GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, HIRANAGAR (GDC HIRANAGAR) The emblem of Government Degree College, Hiranagar (GDC Hiranagar) features an entrance arch with a traditional lamp supported by an open book with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ Rishi Parāśara, 1,19.41, Viṣṇu Purāṇa), which translates to  ‘Knowledge is the One That Liberates’ is written at the bottom. An image of Goddess Saraswati is placed on the right and an image of a palm tree placed on the right. All these are ensconced by red circular outlines and surmounted by the name of the college. The acronym of the college ‘GDC Akhnoor’ is written on the blues base of the emblem.
