BHAKTA KAVI NARSINH MEHTA UNIVERSITY

Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University (BKNMU), a State University was established by the Government of Gujarat at Junagadh city of the Saurashtra region, Gujarat State, India. The circular emblem of the university has the motifs of the fifteenth century poet-saint Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta with mountains and sun in the backdrop. An open book and an ocellus of a peacock is also placed alongside and is supported by a veena. The place of the university is written at the bottom. The red circular border carries the name of the university. On the bottom of the border, on a yellow banner its motto in Gujarati ‘વિદ્યા વિના ન મુક્તિ’ meaning ‘There is No Liberation Without Knowledge’ is written. The open book symbolises education, knowledge and wisdom; the ocellus denotes beauty and self-expression and the veena denotes grand benediction, positivity and divine blessings.
