BIRSA MUNDA TRIBAL UNIVERSITY |
Birsa Munda Tribal University (BMTU) was established by Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat, Gandhinagar in April 2017 and was formally started in October 2017 at Narmada. The university's emblem features a bow and arrow with a pen nib as its tip and flower petals as its wings, supported by a flower, all enclosed in a circle. The circle is topped by eight pairs of green leaves and supported by a gear, with four parallel green circular lines completing the circle. The name and place of the university is written in Devanagari above the emblem. Its motto in Sanskrit, ‘गरीयासि पुन्यारण्य संस्कृतिः’, meaning ‘You are the Greatest Holy Forest Culture’, is placed at the bottom. The bow and arrow, flower and leaves are all motifs of tribal people. The gear wheel represents interconnectedness, precision, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure, while the pen nib represents freedom, intelligence, creativity, determination and diligence.
