CLUSTER UNIVERSITY, KURNOOL

Cluster University was established on April 22, 1980, by an Act of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly to meet the higher education needs of East and West Godavari districts. The university was established on the banks of the river Godavari. The emblem of the university has a shield with a brown outline supported by an orange banner with its name on it. The shield holds the motifs of a trophy, an open book, a gear wheel and mortarboard hat with a scroll of diploma. The name of the university is written on the right of the shield in orange sans serif bold capital letters. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the open book symbolises education, knowledge and wisdom; the gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure; the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage and the trophy symbolises achievement, victory and success. The orange colour signifies energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness.
