MADHABDEV UNIVERSITY
MADHABDEV UNIVERSITY |
Madhabdev University is located in Narayanpur, Assam. The university was established by upgrading Madhavdev College of Narayanpur, North Lakhimpur by the Government of Assam on September 7, 2017. It was named after Sri Sri Madhavdev, an advocate of the Ekasarana Dharma known for his loyalty to his guru, Srimanta Sankardev. The emblem of the university has an orange circle having an open book with a pen on it supported by a banner on which the university’s motto in Sanskrit ‘सत्यम् शिवम् सुन्दरम्', meaning ‘Truth Godliness Beauty’ is inscribed. Below these a traditional lamp is placed. A circular border with tricolour outline bearing the name of the university in Assamese and English and its year of establishment circumscribes the orange circle. The open book symbolises knowledge, education and wisdom; the pen symbolises freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence and the traditional lamp denotes light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
