Banda University of Agriculture and Technology (BUAT), Banda has been established as a State University in the Bundelkhand Region on March 2, 2010 under the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture University Act (Sanshodhan) 1958 Gazette-Adhiniyam 2010. The emblem of the university has a yellow sun supporting a stylised green and orange image of a wheat plant forming into a red colour human motif. The sun is circumscribed by a cyan gear. All these are supported by an open book on which the university’s acronym is written. Below these the name of the university is written. The gear denotes interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure; the sun symbolises life, energy, power, positivity and clarity. The sun is a natural force that is outside of our control, it illuminates the world around us, helps living creatures navigate the planet and sustains the ecosystem; the wheat symbolises agriculture, food and the university’s focal area - agriculture; the open book symbolises education, knowledge and wisdom and the human signifies humanity at large and the stakeholders of the university. The colour yellow symbolises happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity; red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration; the green symbolises agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth and the orange symbolises energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness.
