BRAINWARE UNIVERSITY

The Brainware University (BWU) was established through the Brainware University Act, 2015 at Barasat in the district of North 24 Parganas with the status of a Private University. The circular emblem of the university has a shield with a nib of a pen crested by five, five pointed stars in the colours of cyan, magenta, red, yellow and green. The shield is supported by an open book. All these are ensconced by a yellow circle and blue circular border, which carries the name of the university in blue Copperplate Gothic font. The border has yellow ochre colour outlines. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the nib symbolises freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence; open book symbolises knowledge, wisdom and education; the multi colour five pointed stars represent the different stakeholders and mutual recognition, of wellbeing, and to recognize good deeds and charity.

AKAL UNIVERSITY Akal University in Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda, India was set up by Kalgidhar Society in the year 2015 under the Akal University Act, 2015 (Punjab Act No. 25 of 2015). The emblem of the university is a shield holding the motifs of an open book, book rest or khanda and the name of the university. Below the shield the name of the place of the university is written. TEERTHANKER MAHAVEER UNIVERSITY Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), was established by an Act (No. 30) of 2008 of the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2008. The emblem of the university has a motif of a pair of green flying birds motif supporting the acronym of the name and place of the university are placed in a circular orange vignette background. These are ensconced by a half white and half red border which bears the name of the university in English and Devanagari respectively. On a banner with orange tones, its motto in Sanskrit ‘सम्यक् दर्शन, सम्यक् ज्ञान, सम्यक् चारित्र' meaning ‘Right philosophy, Right knowledge, Right character’ is inscribed in black. The green flying bird symbols mean good luck, hope, joy, new beginnings, renewal and healing.

MANGALORE UNIVERSITY The emblem of Mangalore University (MU) depicts its geography, history and tradition through a number of motifs. In the centre of a circle the motifs of rising sun above mountains and waterbody and trees are  placed representing the geography of the locale. It is ensconced by a yellow circular border on which its name is inscribed in Kannada and English. The circular seal is crested by a colourful headgear or ‘kirita’ of the famous folk dance form ‘Yakshagana’ and supported on either side by coffee plant branches with leaves and fruits for which the city and the State of Karnataka are famous for. At the bottom of the insignia, on a blue banner the motto of the university in Kannada ‘ಜ್ಞಾನವೇ-ಬೆಳಕು’ meaning ‘Knowledge is Light’ is inscribed.
