DR. Y.S.R. HORTICULTURAL UNIVERSITY

Dr. Y.S.R Horticultural University was established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh through G.O. Ms. No.134 dated June 26, 2007 at Venkataramannagudem, near Tadepalligudem in West Godavari District. Andhra Pradesh is the leader in the production of mango, oil palm, chillies, turmeric, sweet orange, papaya and second largest producer of total fruits and spices. The university started functioning from June 26, 2007 at Venkataramannagudem. The green colour circular emblem of the university has a border which bears the name of the university in Telugu and English separated by two flowers. Inside the circle which is divided into three parts, it houses mango, guava, tomato and cashew fruits in one part and on the second part it has laboratory flask, DNA structure and on the third portion a microscope is placed. All these are supported by an open book and a traditional lamp and a pair of laurels of flowers. The open book symbolises education, knowledge and wisdom and the traditional lamp signifies light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.

The motto of the college ' Learning for Excellence ’ is inscribed on a banner placed below the seal. The torch is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the namaste is a spiritual greeting that signifies ‘The Divine In Me Bows to The Divine In You’; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge, and wisdom; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty.

EMBLEM OF MAHARASHTRA The emblem of the State of Maharashtra is a circular seal depicting a Samai Diva Lamp surrounded by 16 lotus blooms. Between the Samai lamp and lotus blossoms is a motto in Sanskrit 'प्रतिपच्चंद्रलेखेव वर्धिष्णुर्विश्व वंदिता महाराष्ट्रस्य राज्यस्य मुद्रा भद्राय राजते' ( Pratipaccandralēkhēva vardhiṣṇurviśva vanditā mahārāṣṭrasya rājyasya mudrā bhadrāya rājatē ), which translates as ‘The Glory of this Seal of the State Government of Maharashtra will Grow like the First day Moon. It will be worshipped by the world and will shine only for the well being of its people’. The motto is based on one found on the (rajmudra) ‘royal seal’ used by 17th century Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji, the only difference being that the name of the monarch is replaced by the name of the State.

MARATHWADA MITRA MANDAL'S COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING ( MMCOE ) The emblem of Marathwada Mitra Mandal's College of Engineering (MMCOE) features a line drawing of the mural of Bodhisattva Padmapani from the Cave 1 of Ajanta Caves which date back to the 5th century, with an arch from the same period and supported by the letter ‘M’ denoting the name of the college. The motto of the college in Marathi ‘येथे बहतांचे हित’ meaning ‘Welfare of the Masses’ is inscribed at the bottom.

PADMA SESHADRI BALA BHAVAN SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL The emblem of Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School (PSBBSSS) has a glowing torch with flame supported by an open book surmounted by a white border inscribed with its motto ‘Knowledge is Power’. This assemblage is supported by a pair of keys inscribed with its name of the trust and further surmounted by its name. All these are ensconced by a cyan outline made of circle and a winding stroke. The torch refers to enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the book refers to knowledge, education, wisdom and learning and the keys are the keys for opening the doors of knowledge to rid ignorance.
