Chandigarh University (CU) which is managed by Star Group, is established by an Act of Punjab State Legislature and is recognised by Section 2(f) with the right to confer degrees as per Section 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956. The emblem of the university has a red and black rectangular panel with the motifs of a globe, a circular human chain, its acronym and its name. Its name is written in sans serif extra bold typeface in red and black and its tagline ‘Discover. Learn. Empower.’ is written below. The globe symbolises adopting International standards of learning and teaching model and global acceptance; the human chain symbolises cultural diversity, brotherhood and the spirit of national Integration; the colours black and white represent transparency adopted in policy making and its implementation and the colour red denotes energy, passion, action, pioneering spirit, leadership qualities, ambition and determination.
