JUDICIAL ACADEMY, ASSAM

The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) has been established by the Government of Assam by the National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009 (Assam Act No. XXV of 2009). The emblem of the university is an orange colour circle with brown and green colour details. It has the Ashoka’s dharma chakra supported by two-pan beam balance and pair of laurels and ensconced by a green circular outline. At the bottom its acronym and place are written and below that its motto ‘In Pursuit of Excellence’ is written. The name of the university is written on a circular border supported by a pair of traditional Assamese hats. At the bottom the acronym is written in sans serif font in five boxes. The dharma chakra symbolises dharma and justice; two-pan balance scales are the traditional symbols of justice they signify justice, healing and life; the laurels symbolise ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the colour orange symbolise  energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness and the colour brown symbolise earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition.

Mangos are the sweetest of fruits, symbolizing auspiciousness and the happy fulfillment of legitimate worldly desires. In Sanskrit the design is known as mankolam and has long been used in India. In Tamil, ‘ma’ means Mango and kolam means rangoli pattern, suggesting a possible Tamil origin for the Sanskrit word.

PARAVANI The Paravani, Mayil, Mayura or the peacock is the vahana or vehicle of the Lord Karthikeya, Murugan, Subrahmanya, Skanda, Kumara, Saravana, Arumukha, Devasenapati, Shanmukha, Kathirvela, Guha or Swaminatha. The legend has it that the demon king Surapadman, with the boon he received from the gods had become invincible. He believed that he was immortal and began tormenting all across the universe. Lord Kartikeya confronted the Surapadman and he evaded the Lord’s attacks. The demon transformed himself into a large tree near Tiruchendur. Lord Kartikeya using his Vel, the divine spear struck the tree and split Surapadman into two halves. The demon sought forgiveness from the Lord and transformed the halves into Mayil or peacock and a rooster. KAVIKULAGURU KALIDAS SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU) was established on September 18, 1997. It is named to pay rich tribute to legendary Sanskrit Mahakavi Kalidas. The logo of university has the ‘samai’ that is the lamp in the centre symbolising that Sanskrit is like the lamp that is mild yet powerfully showing the path of knowledge though its peculiar qualities like calmness, sacredness and guiding force. Books are the representation of the treasure of Sanskrit language. These sciences are symbolised as petals of a flower. The tagline ‘राष्ट्रहिताय संकृत्म्म्’ is the basis of the logo.
