BABASAHEB BHIMRAO AMBEDKAR BIHAR UNIVERSITY

The name of Bihar University was changed to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University (BBABU) in 1992. Established in 1960. The emblem of the university is in brown colour, has the motifs of a rising sun, a pair of folded hands, a decorative arch of Mauryan era, a person sitting in a meditative posture and iconic art and architectural symbols of Bihar. At the bottom these are supported by a pair of swans and a lotus. Its name is written in the bottom half of the emblem and it is surmounted by its motto in Sanskrit ‘नास्ति विद्या समम् चक्षुः’ meaning ‘Knowledge is the Greatest Eye’. The rising sun denotes dawn, light, life, energy, power, positivity and clarity; the folded hands denote prayer, thanks, request, greeting, and sentiments such as hope, praise, gratitude, reverence and respect; the swans denote a good omen and long lasting relationship; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty.

RAJMATA VIJAYARAJE SCINDIA KRISHI VISHWA VIDYALAYA The Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior was established by Government of Madhya Pradesh on August 19, 2008 by bifurcating the JNKVV, Jabalpur. The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. All these are ensconced in two circular borders, of which one carries its name and place in English and the outer one carries its name and place in Devanagari supported by a pair of wheat ears. The ears of wheat signifies prosperity, food, wealth and nourishment and the colour green signifies agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

HINDUSTAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCE Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS), located at Chennai, Tamil Nadu commenced in 1985. The circular emblem in orange and green has a gear wheel housing a pair of laurels and circle containing a map of India and its year of establishment ensconced by its motto ‘Knowledge is Power’ on a green border. THE QUAIDE MILLETH COLLEGE FOR MEN (QMCMEN) The emblem of The Quaide Milleth College for Men (QMCMen) features a green gearwheel inscribed with the quote from Quran in Arabic ‘مَن يُؤْتَ الْحِكْمَةَ فَقَدْ أُوتِيَ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا ’ (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:269) meaning ‘And whoever is granted wisdom has certainly been granted much Good’ and its motto ‘The Quest’. The motto of the college ‘கற்றனைத்தூறும் அறிவு’ (396, Thirukkural, Thiruvalluvar) meaning ‘Knowledge Grows As Much As One Learns’ is inscribed below the pictorial.
