Bhagwant Global University (BGU) is a Private University located in Kotdwar, Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, India. The university is managed by the Bhagwant Education Foundation which was established by an Act of Government of Rajasthan. The blue colour emblem of the university has a gear wheel with four spokes, with the counters of the spokes holding motifs of a computer, an open book, a satellite and an antenna. The circular inner border of the gear wheel bears the name and place of the university. The gear wheel is supported by a pair of laurels. Below all these on a banner its motto in Sanskrit ‘उत्तिष्ठत जाग्रत प्राप्य वरान्निबोधत’ (Mantra 14, Valli 3, Chapter 1, Kathopanishad) meaning ‘Arise, Awake and Stop Not till the Goal is Reached’ is inscribed. The gear wheel denotes interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure; The computer, satellite and the antenna denote science and engineering; the open book denotes education, knowledge and wisdom and the laurels denote ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
