Gopal Narayan Singh University (GNSU) at Jamuhar, Rohtas was established in 2018 as a private university. The emblem of the university has a torch with flame and its bottom ends as a pen. These are surrounded by an orange circular table with eleven persons seated around it. The torch is supported by an open book, which transforms into a pair of wings. The emblem is surmounted by its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्या धनं सर्वधन प्रधानम्’ meaning ‘Knowledge is the Supreme Wealth’. At the bottom of the emblem its acronym is written in orange sans serif font. The torch is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the pen denotes freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence; the open book denotes knowledge, education and wisdom; the wings evolving from book denote the outcome of education as it gives wings to the aspirations of the learners in discovering the unknown and the circular table also denotes sun rise and it means light, universal prosperity and path for growth. The colour orange symbolises energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness and the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.
